Strawberry & champagne ............. any dupes out there?
Strawberry & champagne ............. any dupes out there?
Hi Guys
I'm coming to the end of my strawberry and champagne blush and unfortuntely I forgot to order another one before it was discountinued. I'm sure karen said she would put all the discountinued on the website again (for a bit) so we could stock up, but I honestly don't thinkI can wait till then.............................. so I'm looking for a dupe.
I've looked at mac's and the closes I've seen on their website is pink swoon, well dressed and coy girl
Anyone else know of any?

Sorry, I can't help but would like to know once you find one (or when the SN discontinued items will be making a limited return) - this is a blush I wanted to sample & looking at Jen's swatch gallery is exactly what I'm after.

Hi kitten
will do. I just order some blush samples from a mineral make up company in england and they have one I think will be pretty close (I'm also looking for a new rich just in case).
My nearest mac store is in Cardiff, Wales (a good hour and 20 min train ride) and I properly won't be going there til April to have a look at the blushes in person. So I'll let you know if those are a match as well

ooooh which is the UK based company you have just ordered from? I have tried things from Barefaced Beauty, Elemental Beauty and Lily Lolo before so interested to know what you tried.

Hi Kitten
http://www.returnallhealth.co.uk
free delivery to UK (very fast and friendly coms) and the blush I was thinking of is their pale pink glitter as a dupe for S&C (I'll take a photo of the results once it arrives). My sister swears by their eyeshadow (still trying to convert her to SN), one month I ran out of SN ivory and need some more in a hurry so I ordered their geisha/gothic white and mixed it with my ebony - not bad at all. They are also bringing out some liquid mineral foundation as well but haven't tried those and lots of other things. One thing I did try was their aromamineral foundation with lavender quite interesting. My foundation smelled like lavendar - quite nice
I've tried elemental beauty but couldn't get the right shade at all (but my mum likes them) and I tried lily lolo but I couldn't get a match and its too cakey!!!
How is barefaced beauty? Was tempted to try at one point but wanted to find someone who had used them?

Re: Strawberry & champagne ............. any dupes out there?
Thanks for the link - I'll check them out today.
I didn't get along with Elemental Beauty either - tried a few of their blushes bu they all ended up orangey
(regardless of whether I used either powder or silicone based primers underneath) although the texture was nice.
Lily Lolo - same problem as you actually; they put me off MMU foundation full stop as theirs was the first I tried a couple of years back; no shade match and yup, cakey
. Their blush is all either v spangly or not there at all, but they do have some lovely eye shadow shades. Expensive in comparison to SN.
Barefaced Beauty - I've only had a couple of sample sized (actually v generously filled) 5g jars from them but the quality was good. The foundations feel really creamy (didn't persevere long enough to get a match though) & like they're v good quality. Th things I liked the best were their 'glows', they are v highly pigmented and v shimmery, if you like that kind of thing
Tried a couple of the blushes & bronzers - bronzers= great (although with the sign in name 'Ghost' I'm not sure if you'll be needing these
) but the blushes are a bit blah IMO. I haven't tried them yet but like the fact that they offer mineral lipsticks, 2 varieties of gloss, lip & eye pencils too (although when I last looked at the site I'm sure they only have a couple shades of lip pencil left). I think they must also buy their brushes from the same place as Karen does as they look exactly the same (the doe foot double ended brush is what gave it away for me) but much pricier.
If you try their lippies/gloss then let me know what you think.

Hi
I'm just catching up on some threads- taking a bit of a break from packing. Give me a week or so and I can pop it back on the site...
We're finally moving on Saturday!
