Foundation recipe help

Post by tizzylou » Sat Aug 16, 2008 11:40 pm

Ok, I was out of foundation, and out of despiration, I dumped a nearly full ( missing 2 scoops) of the heavy coverage ivory in to a jar and add 4-5 scoops of the buttery tan ( i didn't acurately measure so some or the scoops were fuller than the others although they all were at least level if not over full. Perfect color for me aright now, but I don't know where to start to mix it in the medium coverage foundation, since I really have no clue how much base or pigment I actually used. Jen or Karen, can you help me figure out proportions.
Thanks, Hollis

Hollis,
Was your 'nearly full' a sample?

If a sample, there are 1 tsp. and approximately 32 scoops in a bag. I say approximately because we all measure scoops a little differently. So lets just say you used 30. Then with the 4 or 5 Buttery Gold, you are about a 4-5:30 or between a 1:7 or 1:6. The Medium Coverage won't require quite as much color. Try 1:7.

Thanks Jen, yes it was a sample, so the 1-7 hopefully will work, at least I have a starting place now, and believe me I will remember to measure the next time.
