Lilychemgirl, MSc(Hons)

Post by lilychemgirl » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:40 am

Hi Everyone,
I *finally* submitted the hard copy version of my MSc thesis to the library at Uni, I am so happy, because I started it when dd#1 (now 6.5) was 1 year old! (there have been some pauses along the way, i.e. for dd#2's babyhood). Here is a picture of the (pretty shimmery lilac) copy I kept for myself (now I need to find an eyeshadow to match, lol!) The one I submitted to the university was black of course).
Image - the colour is much prettier in person!
They assess your thesis in soft bound form, and you receive your mark before you submit the hard bound copy, so this was the final step in the journey.
Yay for no more study! (The idea of sharing this with you all comes from Sewwies' post, I've been in school for a similar period of time - 18 years of full time study, although the last couple were very spread out)
Oh, it's a Chemistry thesis, in case you can't tell from my user name!

That's an outstanding achievement Lily, heartiest congratulations. All the more inspiring given that during the course of it, you undertook the hardest job of all - being a mama to two little 'uns. That's truly an accomplishment fit for celebration.

Nicely done! You should be proud for having the perseverance to finish. I know my kids consumed my life when they were little.

Congratulations, Lily! I know how hard it is to finish school when you are a mama. I also know that it feels wonderful to hold that hardbound version of your thesis--makes it feel real, finally, doesn't it?! :D

Ahhhhh!!! Congratulation, that's so awesome! I can't imagine trying to finish that with two little ones at home! You'd better put that on a shelf in a prominent place in your house for a while, so you can pass by it and slowly let it sink it that you've finished it!
