Quick Foundation Question

Post by meheeeen » Sat Dec 26, 2009 2:35 am

I currently am trying a sample of Everyday Minerals because I found a match with Warm - Medium Beige but I really think it's breaking me out. Will Silk Naturals also break me out or is it gentler?
These aren't big pimples but they're still there. I have sensitive skin and I have never had a foundation that did not break me out with continuous use, my current liquid foundation is Clinique Superfit and I can wear it 2 days at most before it breaks me out.
Thanks! I love the idea of Silk Naturals and I wanna be ready to take the plunge :)

<-- Everyday Minerals convert here. I haven't been using SN long enough to speak about long term allergies/breakouts, but so far all of their products have been super nice for my skin. The foundation is nice and light and it feels great. If I could afford to, I think I would throw all of my other products away and start over.

I am the same way, doesn't matter if the foundation is liquid or powder. The biggest problem for my skin is TD (even eyeshadow w/ td gives me bumps on my lids). I've been using Perfecting Powder (tempt tryst) w/ concealor w/ no problems for about a month.

Good luck!

Nobody can guarantee that you won't break out - who knows what you might have a reaction to? That's just how it goes.

I'm biased, I know that, but I did try EDM four or five years ago, didn't like it at all - to me, it felt a bit gritty and it seemed to go on patchily, though that might have been my technique. And they may have reformulated their products since then.

I've been using SN for three years and it's great - for me.

Doesn't mean you'll have the same experience, but i do think it's worth sampling. You may be pleasantly surprised at the quality. I don't know what EDM's foundations are like now, but SN is very finely milled and it's much easier to get an even application. Do check the ingredients if you have any known sensitivities - sadly, nothing works for everybody.

I think you should definitely give it a go....it is so hard to say if it will break you out or not. I know this because I have extremely acne prone skin and some things other ladies swear by, makes me break out. So everyone is so different, but I LOVE SN Foundation. I too am an EDM convert. EDM's intensive made me breakout, but their matte was fine for me. I really like the original and medium ivory here. Try it out and I will keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't cause any problems for you!

I had the same problem with EDM, I had big cystic acne all over my face!! I never had acne problems before, until I tried EDM foundation. I have been using SN for may be about a month, and I have not had that problem. But as always, everyone it's different and what has work for me it might not work for you. But you should give it a try!! Maybe get the harmony sample, and if you need mixing recipes the mod here Jen will help you with that! Good luck in finding your perfect foundation!!! :D

I used edm for years and didn't really realize that it was breaking me out. I didn't have perfect skin before so I just thought that was the way it was. I started using sn foundation maybe 3 weeks ago or so. My face has never looked this good. Definitely give it a try. The long handled flat top brush is awesome too.
