How dare they steal my money!!!!

Post by Ghost » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:14 am

Okay guys this is a venting post here

I have today off from work. A nice relaxing day off, but me being me woke up at 06:30am (for no good reason of course) I go to my computer to check it as I left it running over night to do a defragmenting. I thought what they hell while I'm here I'll check my emails to see if there was any from my sister. I don't normally check my emails in the morning but I thought I have a day off why not this early, and I'm so glad I did!!!

I saw only one new email from my banking telling me that I have successfully change my password that is attached to my debit card for online transaction. My first thought was well this is a scam email, but the email didn't look like nor was it asking me for personal info like the other scam ones (which I never believed of course). So I opened a new tab went to my online banking, to check everything was okay cause I'm sure it is. That email was just a scam right................... wrong, the email was legit. My bank balance is "Nil"!!!!!! Some bugger managed to change (god knows how) my password attached to my debit card, which ironically was supposed to make it safer, and take my money. Thank god I have my xmas pressie money in a different account. I called my bank straight away and it 10 min it was sorted. They saw that it wasn't me trying to get money and I will get my money back in a couple of days, but it's just so , so, so wrong!!!!

I work my lovely 'SN Beauty' a** off for that money. If other people want money or more money - get a god damn job like the rest of us. I did have a hair appointment tomorrow if I hadn't of change it. This just pee's me right off and right before xmas. It's not like I had a lot of money in there (most of it is in my other savings account) why go to all the hassle!!!! Bet they were hoping that I had a lot of dough in there to - teehee jokes on them. But it still means in the time being I have to borrow money from my mum or sister :(

Okay venting over

Sarah-
I am glad to hear they will have it all sorted out for you soon, but I agree that it is a pain to deal with these things. I hope they can figure out who it was so that it does not happen to someone else, too. I am glad you have family to help cushion the situation until it is fixed.

Oh I know!! What do people think makes them so special they don't have to work for what they have!? It's so frustrating not just the money side but causing someone all that inconvenience. What goes around comes around - maybe they'll buy a hair dryer with the money and it'll explode and set their hair on fire! Or some chocolate that's actually poo! Muahaha!

I'm so sorry. I work in computers and I know there are hundreds of ways our information can be stolen. It's a scary world. I try not to think about it and keep my accounts separate. You made a great move having a different holiday account. There is a chance that your bank can track where the other person logged in from, they might track them down. (I like to think that happens sometimes).

That’s scary, it’s something all of us risk but we never think it will happen to us or someone we know. I’m glad that it sounds like your bank will be fixing the problem and putting your money back where it belongs.

Oh, so glad to hear it got resolved that quickly! You have a good bank, not all of them care or act that fast. People steal any way they can, I have had my bankcard used in the other end of the country to shop at WalMart while I was at home, with the bankdard... and it took almost a week and filling out nonsense paperwork to get several hundreds of $ back on my account. On top of it, the bank had no idea how they did it. Bleh. All we can do is be as safe as we can, and hope everything works out.
