Well, first, generally scared of blue shadows, as all I hd tried made me other look tired/greyish, or were too light on me. Also sizzle looks lovely, love the bright color, but am afraid of too bright colors on my eye lids, don't want my eyes to sceram out with color, don't mind with blushes and lippes though. And also afraid of teh gold in sizzle, I think gold doesn't flatter me too much. If I had ivory or percelain or yellowish skin with brown eyes I'd not hesitate with colors such as sizzle. But maybe you have it and could share a pic of it. Sure it looks good on you?
Re: Blue and purple eyeshadows!
I love bright shadows and really dark eyes for nights out, but sometimes just for daytime or when I'm on work placement at a hospital (where makeup has to be pretty toned down), I use my coloured shadows as liners (wet on an angled liner brush). I usually line the bottom below my lashline and the top, then use a black shadow as a liner in the very outer corners, and just a dab of something very pale on my tear duct. With mascara it looks colourful and pretty without being too overdone and obvious.
Sometime's I'll use two different colours with very thin lines, or maybe the shadow I use as a liner applied really lightly to the rest of my lids.
If you like darker liners a really dark blue or purple would be a good one to try this with, but if not try medium shades, maybe with a lighter one on the lower lid?
Hope this helps!!

Yes, I know what you mean about certain colors making us look tired. Greens are a color a wary of. They have a tendency to look bruised on me. So far, Charmed worked. But I'm not sure I can say the same for Indian Summer. its a mix of blues and greens and golds and somehow that combination turned out bruised, even though I do look good in golden tones.Shirin wrote:Well, first, generally scared of blue shadows, as all I hd tried made me other look tired/greyish, or were too light on me. Yes, bruised is a good word. Describes pretty much what my shadow mix looked like yesterday, just wasn't right. Actually looked a bit pruple, but "bruised purple", so now I know although I love purples that tehy just aren't the proper colro for me. Maybe it is because I think i realsie now that I have absoluetely no red or pink in my skin. And no warm gold either. It is really olive i suppose although when it is light it looks "yellow" olive. But It isn't yellow either. Maybe it is just in the light that you can't see the green when not tanned so that's why it looks "warm".
Cos yesterday did a Slick all over on my brown pigmented lids, and then put on creamsicle and it looked all wrong, a cool color, purplish. So then what i did is that I tried a brown and pink sultry look. One I had seen the tutorial odf in you tube, and I thought this make-up artist was really good at it, best one i have seen. I will put the link on here. It is an Eva Longoria inspired look, thought as I have dark features like her I should try it. And it was the best eye-make-up i had ever done. So that is teh one i am going to stick to now. Will post a pic some day, the pics my huby took with the new Nikkon didn't show the right intensity of colors. But you know one of those sultry looks with espresso dark shadow around the eyes. I have to get myself the black shadow too now so i can do a liner. It will be my first time. Never did a true liner before becasue on its own it looks awful on me and the balck is too severe on me even though i have dark features. But with smudged dark shadow it looks good.
Let me find the video for those who want to try it, it is really awesome as a job, she does it cleverly and it's easy too.

That girl is absolutely gorgeous, canadain voice, "Hi guyes", cute, lol.
I have come to the guess that I look best in warm brown and Nekkid pink colors for teh eyes, whereas for the cheeks and lips, a slightly blue-pink might be best for me. I want to try Cosmic and Verry Berry.
I tried a peach blush, it is a gorgeous color, from L'oréal, called Fresh Papaya, a really fresh glowy peachy coral. I always realsied it suited me. But on the other cheek I tried my slightly blue-rose blush, it is from La-Roche-Posay, a muted silvery rose. And i noticed the cool rose one looked best on me.
I also have two lippies which are my faves. One is a beautiful peachy rose, I found it in Thailand, a no name great lippie. And the one I am wearing in the FOTD, the Lancome one, which is I think neutral or maybe slightly blue rose. And theer again i notice the latter looks best on me. So I bet that sthg like Very Berry which is slightly blue pink will look best on me. Maybe it is because of my blue-black hair!
i am getting there. At 34, it is about time you find your best colors, hehe!

Re: Blue and purple eyeshadows!
I can't usually wear blue but i did buy the SN smokey blue quad and was really excited that i could wear it without looking like a clown. My fiancee said he really liked it. If you were just going to buy two of the colors i'd say get mist and twilight because vapor is a highlighter and sapphire is more of a(gorgeous) liner
