Plummy lippies

Post by egerandi » Wed Feb 04, 2009 2:59 pm

How would you compare the following:

Sweet nothing
Sugar plum
Fig leaf
Vintage

I own Sweet nothing and it looks kinda dark mauve on me, and Vintage which is a thick and glossy dark burgundy on my lips. Which other one should I get? Whichever looks less brown, that's what I would like :)

Fig Leaf is alot like Sweet Nothing, but just a little rosier. I would really call it a plum. It is a matte (still a little glossy) color with no shimmer.

Sugar Plum is alot like Vintage except more pink. Sugar Plum is also a tad pinker than Fig Leaf, and it has a shimmer like Vintage.

I honestly like them all. I tend to prefer Fig Leaf over Sweet Nothing, and Sugar Plum over Vintage. That is just my opinion, though.

Thanks! Would it be possible to swatch them all next to each other?

How opaque / heavily pigmented is Sugar Plum, please? I'm really tempted by that and Reddy. If you can give a comparison for how sheer or opaque they are, that'd be great. I own Gold Blush, Pout, Berry Crush, Berry Nice, Regal and the inimitable Carpe Diem and Monarch.

Sugar Plum comes out about like Carpe Diem on me for sheerness - but a much different in color. It's not as sheer as Gold Blush and Monarch IMO. I don't own the others you mentioned.

Thanks Zeebs, that helps. I was hoping it wasn't as 'heavy' as Regal, so mid-range is about right. For a deeper colour on me, I'd need it not to be too opaque and heavy. Thanks!

It is funny that you asked about these colors right after I had put my swatching things away. (I was even swatching liquid lippies.) I will see if I can get to this by Friday.

I am using Sugar Plum. It is pretty pigmented for me. Not too sheer. Very nice.
I am thinking of getting Pout as a MLBB. Waiting for a swatch to compare Sugar Plum and Pout :)
