Hi! I am very pale, have blue eyes and is newly made blonde (warm tone, a bit of red I imagine). I used to be medium brown with golden touch, using like coralish blushers (poppy for instance) and red/coral lipsticks. I wanted to know which shades I should go for with my new set of colours? Could I still use the coral ones or should I go more cold? In that case with what? I have a pale skin that tends to be a bit red in the sun. I like coral by choice, but I'm not sure if that is still good on me?
Grateful for all hint I can get! Thanks!

Re: Blonde, blue eyed and pale…
Even a 'newly made' blonde cannot change her skintone and other features easily. I still think you should be able to wear the colors you have. However, you now have the opportunity to branch out a bit! I really suggest you try some colors you like, but have always been a little shy to try. Maybe try a neutralish pink like Babydoll. Also, purples will be very pretty, but it might be time to throw a few greens in the mix, too. Can you give me more information? Like your favorite colors to wear.

hmmmm, betcha Copper Rose wand lippie would look great on you! I'm fair, and it looks a loverly shade of of medium coral on me. It goes well with both red or pink, since it can go either way, tone-wise,

Re: Blonde, blue eyed and pale…
Laurie - I also love Copper Rose! I usually can't wear rose colors, but the copper makes a huge difference!
As for what colors to wear, look more at your skin tone and less at your new hair color. What worked for you before will probably work for you now, but remember that as a blond you can get away with the lighter colors as well as colors that are more "fun" - bright pinks, etc. So if you normally wear corals, try brighter corals or more pinkish corals and see if you like them. I know Jen will give you great recommendations if you provide the info she requested - she was able to nail color choices for me based on the colors I like to wear and also on those I can't wear. Her recommendations are my favorites.

Hi!
Thank you all for responding! This is my first time in the forum, so I am very happy to get replies!
I'll try to tell you a bit more: my skin tone, yeah can't do much about it and I think there is where I feel a bit insecure. It is a bit on the red side without make up. With the make up I try to get it a bit porcelin, but I guess some shade daker, still very milky. With the dark hair it was easy to feel comfortable in warm shades (a seller at MAC once told me I couldn't wear cold colours because I looked 10 years older. I was 22 at the time!). Anyways, now I sort of feel that my skin tone along with the hair makes warm tones look.. I don't know a bit too red/pink I think. Like my hair turns more in a yellow tone, my skin looks pink and the make up sort of makes all that happen. My hair is now a bit lighter, still it's not platinablonde, and there are shades of reddish blonde in it I think.
I usually like to wear black, only having dark hair I discovered myself to buy lots of coloured clothes, dresses mostly (with or without patterns). I think I had a bit of Lily Allen going on, to describe the style. With my blonde I feel lost. It's like the attityde is all gone and I look yellow/red/pink along with a wardrobe filled with weird dresses. At the best I look girlish and innocent which wasn't my intention.
In colours I do like green and red, sometimes. (clothes)
Make up would be: sometimes hot red lips (which now makes me look like a clown more than some 50´s pinup girl), apart from that I usually gor for some nude eye shadow, like vanilla and some brown or black eyeliner. Blusher and lips usually is more reddish orange or coral if you will.
I got very curious of that babydoll-blusher. Could that work on me now you think? Lips, I have some problems with pink lips, but could I go for something more in the line of reddish brown, close to own colour of lips (without looking brown, mind)? I feel as if I haven't used make up in all my life..!
Thank you all for writing! I am so grateful for all your opinious and advices!

Re: Blonde, blue eyed and pale…
It sounds like you will still feel the most comfortable in warmer tones. Also, I think you will find blush colors very forgiving. It is mostly in the application. Make sure your brush is lightly, but evenly loaded, and apply to the apples of your cheeks. Since you are so fair, I would definitely go with Climax, Maybe Baby and Flirt. Babydoll is a fun one, but a bit more on the pigmented side and for your bold makeup days. It will work for you, but you will have to use a light hand.
If you are liking reddish brown lippies, I recommend Jaybird. Also, Laurie's recommendation of Copper Rose is good, too. You also might want to try something a little more subtle like Tender.
Let's face it, blonde hair usually gets a little more attention than brunette, because it draws the eye. I can see how you might be a little more aware of what you wear with the new hair. However, you would be surprised at how the bold colors in clothing will still look fabulous on you. It might just be time to chose more subtle makeup when wearing your bright clothes, and then wear your bolder makeup when wearing the black or neutral clothing. It is kind of like when they say a dramatic lip should be paired with a neutral eye and vice versa. You now have that eye drawing haircolor, so it makes sense to play up either your makeup or your clothing, but not both at the same time. I hope I have helped a little! Karen does have some lovely neutral colors in her line.

Re: Blonde, blue eyed and pale…
Do you have someplace close that has a makeup counter offering free makeovers? Since you are having trouble with finding new colors for your “new” self it may be good to try some out. Sometimes you just need to try colors to be sure. After you have colors you are comfortable with you can find a match in mineral make up. Can you post a photo it may help.
I definitely recommend the Unblush to help with the redness. I know all about that!
