Confused abt serum & moisturizer

I just got my first SN order and I'm confused about how to use the serum & moisturizer. I looked on the website & it says to either pat on my moisturizer after applying serum, or to apply moisturizer then serum?

Isn't serums supposed to be the first step after cleansing (if you don't use a toner)?

Either way will work. I recommend trying both ways to see which you prefer.

There are many opinions on how to do it....I have always gone with using water based things first, and using the oil based ones to seal the water based ones into the skin. In theory, it sounds right to me, but I can't really prove that it is the right way to do it. I like to put serum first and then moisturizer. I know some of the serums mention that you might experience pillling if you layer a gelled moisturizer over a serum, but I have not experienced this. I know some have, and if you do, you can change how you layer them, or just wait a little longer in between layers.

Thanks for the super fast reply. I'm intending to just start with the super serum first cause my skin is sensitive and acne prone. But I do intend to add the SN moisturizer in a few weeks and want to know in advance.

Btw does this mean that the serums are oil based while moisturizers are gel (water) based? Thanks!

It's the other way around, serums are water-based whereas creams are oil-based.

Pomi is right.....serums are water based...and our moisturizers are oil based. Moisturizers are usually an emulsion of oil and water. Ours are an oil in a kind of gel base rather than having a wax to emusify the water and oil together. I know most gel type things are water based, but it is not the case with our moisturizers.
