Intensive Moisturizer

Post by khasart1 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:29 pm

Has anyone had a bad reaction to the Intensive Moisturizer? What ingredient could I be reacting too? I broke out in a red stinging rash!

Can you give us an idea about the other things you have been using? Also, how long have you been using it?

Well I recenly began using Apricot Cleansing Oil first. I continued to use my rose hydrosol for toning and then I introduced the Intensive Moisturizer. Previously for moisturizing I was using Weleda's Almond Moisturizer for sensitive skin.

Hmmmm. Not sure. I do know that sensitive skin is a fickle thing from my experience. What works one day may not the next. Since it is a new product for you, I can only suggest that you try a patch test somewhere else and see what happens. If you really want to get to the bottom of it, you might want to email Karen by using the web form. It really could be that it is just not a good product for you.

IT could really be any of the ingredients. Do you suffer from season or year round plant allergies/hay fever?? I do and it took stupid me forever to make the connection why my skin freaked out from most plant derived skincare. I can use certain products w/o issues (Super Serum, Vit C Serum and the Oatmeal Serum). My skin also HATES oils. I've tried about 15 and it's a no go for me.

I'm so sorry to hear about the rash- are you ok??? My GUESS is that it's the Renovage- the rest of the ingredients are pretty basic, but the Renovage is pretty strong stuff.

I do have allergies. Maybe I should try the products that you are able to tolerate, Jen. Thanks Karen for your concern. My skin is fine. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey, I hope you're fine - I too break out almost instantly from anything that I try. So I usually do a series of patch tests and then, use the product. Luckily, SN samples are inexpensive :)

sometimes things just don't work well for our skin. i don't have particularly sensitive skin but i broke out in a red rash with the firming and intensive moisturizers and the super serum. i may have gotten a reaction to to the facelift--i can't remember but i know it made my mom's face red and fiery and now she won't try any of the other serums :(
if i were you i would just try some other things with less actives--the emu, jojoba, hemp, and raspberry moisturizers are all nice and i think there would be less of a chance of reacting to them.

Is the level of Renovage the same as in the Firming moisturizer? Because I find it really works for me. I am debating between the two for winter as my firming one is almost finished.. ;)
