Karen will know more, though.
Wow, I didn't know that about pigmentation. Thank you Jen!! At least now I know I'm not going crazy... :D I have loss of pigmentation in a few areas, but I'm so fair that you can't see it unless I burn/tan. It's great in regards to keeping my skin from looking less patchy, but the downside is tracking the progression of pigment loss is a challenge since I can only see the difference when I've accidentally let my skin tan or burn! Guess that should have been a clue that I don't have much pigment/brownish color in my "normal" skin to begin with! ;)

I look forward to seeing what Karen knows about it... :)

Hello!
I have just bought the sample kit and I would like to know which undertone I have. The photo is the clearest I could find right now but if it is difficult to see I can fix another :) Also if you need one that is taken outside I will try to get one.

Thank you!

Regards,
Erika from Sweden

Erikan-

I would try Olive at a half scoop Olive and about 6 Ivory scoops. Warm Gold might be close, but I think it will be too peachy. The ratio for Warm Gold will be about 1:9. (One scoop Warm Gold and 9 scoops Ivory)

Just ordered a sample kit and was wondering if you can tell me what my undertones are and what might be a good mix. I am fairly tan right now and this is the best pic I have available. Thank you...

Ebony 1:6 or Olive 1:10....it is possible they might need more Ivory than that.

(Ratios are 1 scoop color base and the other number is for Ivory base.)

Hello all!
Just want to say thank you first of all for taking the time to read this post.

I've used Bare minerals for years, but stopped after I started breaking out terribly, plus other issues that well I won't bore you with! Then I went to EDM but couldn't find the right foundation, I was too yellow in it, I ordered golden medium in loose powder. However when I ordered it in pressed form it look yellow on me. The loose powder I'm not sure I was 100% happy with in coverage and how it matched.

Last week I ordered my first silk naturals batch and I'm having trouble with the foundation. So here I am asking for help
here is the link to a few different pictures from over the years using different foundations.

I really like the one from last winter. It could have been I was in the right lighting (the camera???) but I like how flawless I look. It's medium beige and I look livelier (do i or maybe I don't haha). I've used the golden warm and I just feel too yellow in it. I feel like I either look too yellow, not yellow enough or flat. I want my face to have a healthy glow. Not settle into my pores and look yellow.

Well hopefully you can help me. I ordered the medium coverage in warm gold. But maybe I'm a olive??? I have no idea like I said I felt like the picture last winter looks healthy with a glow. But maybe a dash pale?? Well you tell me your thoughts are :)

Oh also I'm mexican, have green veins and tan before I burn (sometimes I do both though haha). Although my nose and cheeks now get red before I tan haha...changes over the years. Don't know if that helps or not.

P.s. I've also ordered oil control blur, unblush, date bait. I heard that the oil control blur will be helpful in with the oil but also in blending away the pores. I have oily t zone and I of course I suffer from hyperpigmentation which is why I need a good amount of coverage.

TIA!!!!

Welcome!
I would start with Warm Gold or Olive. In Warm Gold you will be about a 1 scoop color to about 4 Ivory (start at three and add Ivory a scoop at a time). In Olive about 1:7. My gut says Warm Gold is right, but if it is too yellow, Olive will be better.

Thank you!!

I made some edits not sure if it will help or not.

But I tried the olive as one and then made another WG and I think the Olive might work better. I might add a hint of WG. We'll see I'll keep you all posted.

Oh and if the olive works better I'll have a full bag now of WG....can that be returned or am I done for in this case?
Thank you so much!!!

Thank you! I just realized that I am a bit more tanned now than in the photo. I have tried 1/2:6 olive but it's a little bit to light, would you suggest me to put some more olive or something else?

Thanks again!

Yep...just a little more Olive..... Then you might have to adjust your recipe when you scale it up.
