Silk Naturals

Hi everybody! I've been wearing EDM for nearly 2 years now. I've started getting greasy and the makeup seems to slide off my face, so I'm looking for something new. I'd love to try Silk Naturals, but have no idea where to start with the color kit!
In EDM, I wear:
Multi-Tasking Neutral
Fair Medium (Cool)
I can wear Buff Linen as well.

Where should I start?

Hi Cammie and welcome to SN. Our moderator, JenW is an expert at helping with foundation blends and I'm sure she'll pop in and help soon (she's offline over the weekend).

Based on your Cool Fair Medium, I'll hazard a guess and say you might find Ebony colour base to be suitable for you. It's for cool tones with a pinkish base. Buff Linen is the hybrid of one of the fairly neutrals and one of lighter olive tones (I was hanging around the forum when everyone went nuts with excitement creating the new foundation blends, and that was one of several which was a pretty fine tuned near match to several others). It's not a strong olive, so I'm not sure if you'd need a touch of the green booster, but we do have a new olive base foundation colour which you could add a pinch of into your blend. As I say, Jen is definitely the expert but I'd guess Ebony with a pinch of either Olive or the Buttery Gold. She'll know the ratios of Ivory to colour base to use. I think 1 Ebony:9 Ivory will be close. Also, have you tried something like our Oil Control Blur for your getting the greasies? You would want the Untinted shade. Also, I recommend Date Bait for one with your coloring.

I just tried my first go-around and I already love it!
I actually had to go 15:1 on the original formula.
I got a Heavy sample kit and that was an 8:1 ratio.

I'm going to order the Medium coverage full kit for sure.

I started off with the Perfecting Powder as a primer. Applied the foundation and set it with the silk dust. The makeup went on flawless. I like the coverage and the matte finish! EDM always looked cakey on me, even if I used tiny amounts. I can't wait to become a full-fledge SN girl!
