Which colours for me?

I am starting in makeup and loving EM, I also wanted to try this brand.
Which colours might suit me for a neutral look, a spring look, a summer look. I wear Golden Medium Tan in EM (my skin is medium tan).
As I have acne-prone and oily skin, which primers really work? Is this an excellent brand, even better than EM?
Thank you for your help!

Hi metisse - welcome! I used EM too as my first minerals brand and have owned almost all their products (apart from other shades of foundation, etc). To answer your question directly, "is this an excellent brand", the simple answer is "yes". I have pale skin but the same acne, oily problems, plus heightened sensitivity for a number of reasons. I guess I am looking for the same kind of results you are, up to a point. So yes, I'd give you my warmest recommendation that I'd found Silk Naturals not only excels above all the other brands that I've tried for "couture" colour composition, quality, texture and performance, but it is the most "skin friendly" that I've found.
Silk naturals was the only cosmetic I could use on severely irritated, literally red-raw skin when I recently suffered a reaction (to something else). I believe the silk powders were soothing, perhaps even healing. The silk powder used as a primer is wonderful, but so are the perfecting powders (original and tinted) and the newer powders called Blur and Oil Control Blur.
I am note sure which colours to recommend to you, but there is an extensive library of swatches both here in the forum and linked into the main site and those offer very colour-true representations. Other ladies here can offer advice on foundation blending etc. I'm paler than Golden Fair and I use two scoops Buttery Gold to one full size bag of Medium ivory, but our moderator JenW has an extraordinary gift for knowing what blends are likely to suit you.
Simply put, you cannot go wrong here and even if you did, the customer service is second to none. Enjoy the site

Hello metisse1 and welcome to our forum!
I really think you will be a Warm Gold for your color base. It is possible you might need a little more yellow. Choose your Ivory based upon the coverage you are seeking. I am guessing you will be in the 1color:5-8 Ivory range.
I need a little more to go on for recommending color products. We do have some great colors for spring, etc., but I need to know more about what colors you like and your other features (eyes, hair color). Do you like a light, natural look, or something a little more dramatic?
Let me know!

I have black hair, black eyes and my skin doesn't look good with pastel colours. So I need colours like purple, taupe, brown which naturally highlight my skin.

This page has a selection of swatches and there is a forum thread here:
http://www.silknaturals.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=4&t=367 with a lot of swatches of the newer colours in the range. I find these swatches to be very colour true, so they're a good guide to go by.

Neutral: Nectar Organic gloss, Maybe Baby blush, Elegant Brown Quad (colors are Posh, Vogue, Cream and Chic....you could probably get by without Cream).
Spring: Precious organic gloss, Satisfied Blush, Spring is hard to do without pastels.
Summer: Berry Crush organic gloss, Tahiti Sweetie Bronzer, Smokey Plum Quad, or one of the lighter purples to go with Vinyard.
Edited to add: Maybe the summer eyes for Spring and Fire and Brimstone for Summer?
