can't remember if i shared this here before.. haven been in forum for a long time. nways, on the topic of pressing, this is my pressed blush that i use daily.

Tart Bright and Babydoll pressed with isopropyl alcohol in a old eyeliner and eyebrow powder box with mirror.

the colors look different in the palette but work absolutely the same.

Oh yeah, I'm pressing my blushes and glows too. I use the binder from diycosmetics - doesn't it break when you only use alcohol?

They look fantastic! That's what I was going to ask..there's no earthly reason they should stay together, but it's cool that they seem to be doing very well.

Which is the colour on the right hand side? I *need* that one!

Completely agree!!!! Swatch-wise, always thought Tart & Babydoll looked too similar to bother trying both, but have now changed my mind (.........adds Babydoll sample to cart) .

I think it's Babydoll on the right - I've got a sample of Tart already (it's VERY bright LOL) and it looks suspiciously like the one on the left.

I also think the right one is Babydoll, and it's a must for those of us with fair skin. I wear it a lot, current fav

this is a dumb question ...but how do you ladies get your pressed products so nice and smoothly PRESSED? awhile ago i made my own binder after doing some research, and i think the recipe was pretty good..stirred it up, added it to my foundation, put it in an old empty compact...
i had a metal measuring cup with a flat bottom that i thought would fit perfectly, but sadly it was just a tad too large for the compact...so after i got the wet powder in, i had no way to press it flat all at once. it came out bad haven't had the courage to attempt again.
how did you press the blush into those nice square pans? i know you can use quarters for the small round pans, but what about other shapes? do you just have to hunt until you find something that fits perfectly? or is there a secret?

I've only pressed rounds but a couple of suggestions for something to fit in a square: thick cardboard(that you can cut to size), an additional pan of the same size, a flat plastic barette

packgal, how about a piece of eraser cut to fit the pan?

packgal, I've also seen photos online of people adding extra binder or water/alcohol to the mix so that it's semi-liquid. That way, once you put it in the pan, you can carefully drop the pan a few times and the product evens out by itself. I think the idea is that the extra liquid then evaporates so you still get a final product which is solid (and not goopy). I must say that I've not tried this method myself, though.
