Is there any reason not to use liquid soap/body wash on hair

I mostly use the cleansing conditioner but every once in a while I need a reset. Is there anything in liquid soap/body wash that you shouldn't put on your head?

As long as it is occasional, it should not be a problem. Just keep the amount of soap to a minimum. In prolonged use, it might strip the oils needed for healthy hair as shampoos tend to be a bit milder.

When I was growing up, a very popular soap product was called 'Mane & Tail'. It was actually a shampoo/body wash all in one.

I use an all-natural, gentle shampoo/body-wash and i love it. I don't know what kind of body wash you use, but as long as it's not super harsh and/or you're only using it now and then, shampoo and body wash behave pretty similarly. Like Jen said, if it's harsh it could strip the oils out of your hair. You can always buy a shampoo you like and use it as body wash if the the body wash you have is harsh.
