Need some mixing help

I'm having some trouble mixing the just-right foundation color. I've tried ebony (too pink) and warm gold (a little too yellow). My skin is light (I used 9 parts ivory to 1 part warm gold). If I add more ivory to the warm gold, it's still a little too yellow, but with a whitish cast. I use Olive Fair in Everyday Minerals, which is still slightly off but better. Would you suggest starting with warm gold and adding a little ebony, or adding a little peach, or something else? Thanks.

I am guessing then, that you will need a little Ebony, and a little Warm Gold for your dark color. This is about where I fall, too, except that Olive Fair was too fair for me. I would try 1Ebony:1Warm Gold:to 14-16White. The Peach would add red, so I don't think that will help you. I am not sure how much White you have on hand, but you could premix the Ebony and Warm Gold together 1:1 and use one scoop of the E/WG mix to about 7 or 8 White.

Another option (and this is what I do) is to do a layer of an Ebony mix, and then a layer of a Warm Gold mix to liven it up. You may want to do the opposite, though. Do a layer of the Warm Gold mix and then a layer of the Ebony mix where you turn too yellow.

If neither of these options work, we may have to request an olive base!!!!
