Hi! I am new to Silk Naturals and I just received this lip gloss the in the mail yesterday. I was expecting a nude/pink but instead it turns medium berry colored on me - could I possibly have gotten a mislabelled product? thanks! :)

With sheer colors, the color of your natural lip always shows through. Do you have pigmented lips?

If you think you might have a mislabelled product, you need to send an email through the website form. There really isn't anyone here that can check on that for you. I can say that Centerfold is kind of berryish on me, too, but then my lips are berryish in color.

Thanks Jen! Yes my lips are pretty red/pigmented - I guess I was hoping it would tone them down. I was afraid to order the lipstick in XXX thinking it'd be too pale on its own but maybe that's what I need to do!

Does it look like a berry color in the tube, or just on your lips? My Centerfold looks brownish/nude in the tube, but on the lips it looks different because it is sheer so you can see the pink of my lips through it. If you want a more pigmented nude that covers up your lip color, I think XXX will work well. If it ends up being too light, you can always put colored gloss over it, or apply it lightly.

Ok, just held it up to the window and it is brown/dark nude in the tube. Then on my lips it looks gets a brown berry tone, then changes to just berry - like it gets brighter after a few minutes. Guess it is just my weird lips!

This happened to me too, along with many other colors. Negligee is a nude with a slight pink on me. XXX makes me look like death, and I am too lazy to layer, so it is out for me unless I want to get out out of work early...LOL. I've found the lipsticks work the best on my pigmented lips. Eternal is a nude mauve, very pretty.

I have the same problem. I have had better success with Mirage. Also, I think the suggestion of XXX is a good one. I like that lipstick for toning down my own lip color a bit.

I have noticed that those of us with more than average red/pink pigment in our natural lip color tend to have trouble with some of the pink toned lippies. I tend to go for colors that others think are quite brown.

Oh I did want to add, one of my favs is MAC creme d'nude, although sometimes it's a little too pale and pink for my liking - if it had a bit more beige/cream color to it and was moistuizing it'd be HG. I've tried tons of brands and so far that is probably closest to what I am looking for. I just wanted to find a more natural and better for my lips version - and in a perfect shade of course. ;)

I have not seen Creme d'Nude in real life, but judging from photos and swatches, I think if you like that one then you will like XXX. It is more beige and less pink, so what you are looking for. And while it is a light color, it is not super light. Here it is swatched on my pale skin:
