Help with finishing powders

Hey girls!

was just wondering if anyone adds silk powder or any other SN finishing powders into your foundation mix? in what ways does it enhance the overall look? i mainly wanna minimize pores and control shine.

also, which version of the oil control blur powder will suit me better - the tinted or untinted one? my current foundation mix is abt 1 Olive : 11 Ivory in original coverage, and i'm concerned whether the tinted powder will be too dark.

lastly, what exactly is the purpose of the zinc finishing powder? is it solely as a powdered form of sunscreen?

Thanks in advance!!

I don't have any answers to your first question as I don't mix any of the finishing powders into my foundation; but, I do use the tinted Oil Control Blur, and my foundation mix is 1 olive: 16 ivory. I don't find the tinted version too dark, at all.

I think the zinc powder is just good for your skin; apparently it is soothing and helps with redness, et cetera. It can't be advertised as a sunscreen, but that might be one of the side benefits! ;)

Experimentation is the way to go. I do know that putting a little finisher in your foundation can sometimes save a step. I use a taller profile jar with small holes like the blush jars (a standard 10 gram). I sometimes just shake a little Date Bait in my swirly bowl along with the shakes of my foundation and blend there......that way I am not overcommited to a mix of stuff that might not work for me.
