In color theory yellow + lavendar = a neutral taupe color or in your case....muddy

I just think it was making the brown component more brown, and I do see the yellow in your complexion. Also, Buttery Gold has a golden component to it and I don't think you have that. I will definitely conceed to you on the Date Bait. And agree that Tempt Tryst is better for you.
Were you having issues with the Medium Coverage before? Like with dryness? I know I still prefer the Original overall...as it is what I have always used. I needed the All Purpose for the driest winter months, though.

Ah, hehe, that totally makes sense then

I was trying to take away the deadness of my tone but made it more muddy, go me! I never thought of the BG's gold component, just found it more yellow than Warm Gold, so I went with it. The original mix I came up with worked surprisingly well based on these observations though, was just too dark. I didn't have a problem with it being dry or anything, just wanted to lighten it up and based on what everyone was saying, the all-purpose seemed like the ticket. Oh well, practice makes perfect, thanks again for the suggestions

Hi JenW! I told you guys that I was able to find a good color match with the all purpose foundation.....well, maybe not. After doing my makeup in the morning I always check my car mirror also, and it looked like I hadn't any foundie on AT ALL!
Nothing on my face that I wanted covered was. I think that the original foundation works MUCH better for me. I'm glad we have choices!

I have to agree that I don't feel the All Purpose is as forgiving as the originals....the sillica really helps to blur the stuff you don't want to be visible. All Purpose was born mostly to help out the gals who had issues with dryness from silica, and wanted simpler ingredients. I am also very glad to have options. And the ability to tweak the color...and add a little glow.....etc., etc.

Jen, I ended up dumping the small mixture of the all purpose foundation into my *real* mixture...and it's fine. No wasting of SN allowed!

Hey,
I posted on this thread before and Jen told me to try out olive/warm gold. I tried a 1:2 ratio of white to olive, but it feels like something is missing. Warm gold, even 1:1, seemed light to me. Should I add some peach to my olive mix? I really like how the foundation feels on my skin - I just want to tweak it enough for it to be perfect

Kirti-
A little Peach in the mix is worth a try. It will add kind of a reddish tone in your depth. And Olive + Peach is really close to a darker shade of Warm Gold, but it will be less yellow.

So maybe 1:2 olive and half a scoop of peach to start?

I don't think I'm very yellow anyway...

Olive and Peach are 2 times or more darker than Warm Gold. I think you will need more white than that. Anywhere from 2-5 more scoops of white....so start at
1 Olive:1/2 Peach:3 or 4 white....and lighten with more white if you need it.
