I'm new to SN and I've just been enjoying reading peoples posts on the forum fo the last couple of weeks, but I was reading this thread this morning and felt so guilty sat there with my plate of toast nursing my hangover (I passed an exam hehe!), I went to the gym! I keep meaning to get healthy and lose some of the 3st I've put on since I started uni, but never manage to stick at it... I need to be kept on track!!!

So this is me joining in, and hopefully I can drop a dress size and reclaim my old wardrobe hehe!

I'm 5'11, 13st (measured on my dad's industrial type fish scales last week, the ones I have here are much more forgiving but wrong lol...), my waist's 32", and I'm a UK size 14, which I'm happy enough with, but I have a whole wardrobe of lovely clothes I can't wear :( And I really need to sort out my eating habits...

I'll keep you posted how I get on, wish me luck!

Nice one! As long as you're thinking in long term (which I'm sure you are) the bad days are not that bad :D

I got past my plateau, thanks to the bunch of advice I got in this thread. I have stopped counting the calories (number-wise) about a month ago, and got so encouraged with the steady loss, that I set a new, lower goal. I'm even helping my friend to lose weight with all what I learned during this past 6 months.

I'm picking up my altered jeans and shorts and vest from the taylor today - I hope he did a good job, as I don't have the extra cash to buy new items.

Oh, not sure if mentioned it here before, but I switched to using agave nectar in anything that needs sugar: much sweeter, so you need less (I can go as low as half), and the GI index is half of that of sugar. It's a bit more pricey, but for what I need it for, a little goes a long way. You gotta adjust the liquid to about 1/3rd less in the recipe and bake at 25 degrees less too, but same time.

okay, okay its been six weeks since i lasted posted so here's an update

3 weeks ago: I got weighed but no lose, but no gain :D

Weigh day today: I've lost 5lb (2.5kg) wwwwwooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I'm so chuffed :D :D :D The biggest lost in a while. I feel like I'm getting back into the groove of things. I'm seeing harry potter this weekend so pizza afterwards, my first one in 3 month (a personal best)

I've been doing extra exercise session after work, sit ups, (on top of the ones I'm already doing) and it's really nice to see my waist line going in. After a year and a half of dieting I've seen the top half of my body go down from a size 28/30 UK (24/26 US) to size 18 UK (14 US). Still got a ways to go, but I'll get there.

Would you believe someone who used to absolutely hate exercise (as mush as dracula hates sunlight  ), to someone who enjoys doing it after work (but not everyday).

Three cheers for you!! Keep up the good work, Sarah. It's wonderful to hear about your ongoing success (and, by the way, NOT Gaining is still success.)
