I AM going to order the sample kit, but i was wondering if i should mix to match my face or neck :P Oh and I'm Chinese so I was thinking more towards butterey gold. My neck is a pale yellow, but my face is tanned, so its yellowy slightly orangey and gray and ashy normally from being unhealthy x_x

My coloring right now would be closer the the last two pics since its winter.
I also have an issue with matching face and neck color (face paler and pinker than neck). To even out my skin tone, I use Tempt Tryst as a finishing powder or mix with my foundation on my face only to cancel out the pinkness in my cheeks. It also gives a my skin a healthy glow. Maybe you can try Tempt Tryst on your neck?

Also used EDM before, my best match was 1 Golden Fair :1 Fawn. With SN, I find buttery gold suits me best. HTH.

I am thinking Warm Gold will probably be about the best....I see peach and yellow in the colors you are mixing......Try about 1:8 or 9. Olive might work, too, but that is just kind of a gut feeling...I could be way off.

Jan in ID-
Rhys is right on. You look cool/neutral to me, too. I agree that Ebony is the way to go for starters, and you might need a smidge of Warm Gold. Ebony does run a little lighter than the other bases...I would probably start at 1:9 or 10 and add more Ivory if necessary. It is easier to add more white for us fair gals when looking for the right ratio.

gummypills-
You have gotten some great advice. The last pic you posted makes me pretty confident that Buttery Gold is for you...If you decided it is too yellow, try Warm Gold, and we can always add some Yellow Color booster to Buttery Gold if it is not yellow enough. I would start at about 1:6 in Buttery Gold and add a little more Ivory if necessary.

For the neck/face thing...this one is always tricky. Even if your neck and face were exactly the same color, they rarely hit the light the same, so they will more than likely always look different. Usually, the color difference is a result of the sun hitting our face and missing our neck over the years. My best advice on this one is to find a medium of the two, but I would probably lean more to the face color. Some also match face to chest more than face to neck, because the face and chest are closer to being on the same plane of view. Experimentation is the key, and you kind of have to come to the understanding that our own skin is different from one part to the other. It is just the way of things. Drastically changing the color of the face or neck to match the other will usually result in something looking more off than what you started with.

WOW with all the EDM girls on here I'm really wanting to try this foundation, especially since I read somewhere on here that it controls oil way better. The mixing thing has been intimidating to me in the past but I'll give it a shot. Anyone have a match for Buff Linen or Fairly Light Neutral?

I was also wondering if there is something that works as well as Pick me UP Pink? I'm a bit red all over and the mint made me look ashy. Is the unblush close to mint or totally different?

I have ordered a few samples of things other than foundation from here and logged on because of Jan in ID's dear C.... post, which I found to be a simple post and very disheartening. I found out I have points on here!!!! How exciting :) .

Hi SweetBecka,
I would start with Ebony color base, but like Jan, you might need to add a little Warm Gold- Try 1Ebony:8Ivory. Olive might work, too. 1:12-14

The sample kit that has all the color bases is probably the way to go.

That's what I was thinking but I'm also not sure what coverage original or medium? In EDM I used Matte.

Well - a couple of the gals who liked the Intensive are happy with the medium foundation in SN, and I like the original formula - check http://www.silknaturals.com/callouts/pu ... guide.html for the coverage levels.

I think you'll be fine with the original - and that's the easiest one to work with to get your shade tweaked just right, too. You'll still be pretty close if you decide you prefer medium, and heavy is enough that most women use it to mix concealer - though a few prefer it for full-face.
