Hi! I'm just back from almost a month vacation on the mainland so I'm only now reading about Colors for a Cause. Looks like my kind of colors in the e.s. and since I've never tried any SN lippies and since my birthday is coming up very soon too, maybe I should help this cause. Ya think? LOL!

And mikie, I love your new pic. How did you do that pretty soft oval? donna

Just got my CfaC this week! I haven't tried the shadows yet, but I LOVE Carpe Diem! I love how moisturizing it is. I love the subtle gleam. It's the perfect berry for me. I'm pretty warm toned, so many berries make me look way too sickly and yellow. Not this! This is simply beautiful.

Most of all, I love how smoothly it applies and how pigmented it is. I have to agree with the previous posters who raved about this formulation. I would really love more lippies with this formula, even without the 23K gold.

Told ya so, ROFL!!! Luscious colors *&* formula! :D

Donna, Jen & Maryah tried to guide me w/pictures,LOL, & Maryah (bless her heart!) made sure to get my lil siggy pic of Silky small enough. With all my frustration over pictures, I started playing at Photobucket & it's so easy! Way fun! Glad you're back!

Okay, well, I got my CFAC in the mail a few days ago, and after using them, I've concluded:

1. Colors are fantastic.
2. New formula is good, except...
3. Is it the gold that feels grainy and dries out my lips???

Not such a huge fan... prefer the regular lippies for moisturizing. Karen, will you release a non-gold formula? I don't think I can wear the gold.

Wow...I haven't posted in awhile. Since I got my package today, I figured it was time for me to get out of my hiatus.

First of all, can't get enough of the Delight lippie. Hands down, my everyday go-to colour. I actually thought that Karen was discontinuing these at some point!!! Not too dark, not too light but pretty much MLBB.

Now, for the reason of my post, I also just tried the Monarch lippie. HOLY SMOKES!!! It's absolutely FABU! It practically blends in with my golden skintone and lasts a long time!!! I can't wait to mix it with my Delight and see if it gives it a bit of a punch!!! Karen, you've done it again and I wholeheartedly agree with everyone here about making more lippies with these special ingredients (minus the gold). Unfortunately, I can't wear Carpe Diem because it contains carmine so I'll just admire it from afar and on Mikie's beautiful face. **sigh**

I just received my Colours for a Cause order a few days ago, along with a (more boring but equally necessary) foundation refill. ;) The lipsticks are just beautiful! I particularly like Monarch, which is such a unique colour and great for me as I've got pigmented rosy lips which need toning down. Although I haven't actually had a chance to try the eyeshadows yet, I wrote an entry about the collection in my blog, to get the word out about these before the month of October is up.

I think I’ll go back for more Monarch lippies. It's a little silly of me, but it gives me a kick in the office to see gold leaf on my coffee mug!

my review of Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem smells distinctly metallic and feels very slightly gritty -- both probably from the gold -- when I apply it, but I can't detect either attribute once I'm not applying it. The formula wears comfortably without using a separate lip balm underneath. It's pigmented such that I prefer to apply it with a mirror. The gold flatters my warm complexion but the base color can look a bit too pink (given my preference for red) when the light doesn't pick up on the gold. Regardless, it's a beautiful color and I have difficulty imagining it not flattering anybody.

By the way, Carpe Diem is what prompted me to take a closer look at Silk Naturals and place my first order after almost a year of being aware of the company. Kudos to Karen for a wonderful product and cause and props to mikie for her relentless enthusiasm! :D

Relentless is the perfect word- I just finished shipping, and we've raised over $1000 so far!! This is something that would never have been possible without all of you, and I'm just over the moon thrilled!

Woooohoooo! That's WONDERFUL, Karen! Small update on Della, who's battling breast cancer as we speak. Her long hair is now as short as mine, & she donated the cutoff to Locks of Love. She's been getting chemo & she figured she'll likely lose her hair anyway by the time she starts radiation, so she turned a "possible" negative into a *definite positive*. That's class! AND a positive attitude! I'm THRILLED the campaign is being successful!!! You GO, girl!
