It might be close, but it will be short on peach to go with the golden (just so you know, there are no golden tones in Peach base..it is more of a cool peach). However, if you have those samples on hand you might stumble onto a better match.

Hello

This is my first time using mineral makeup, I have oily skin just got my sample kit and need help with my skin tone foundation recipe.
Also got tinted oil control finishing and primer, matte blushes: flirt, poppy, embrace... but I would like all kind of items suggestions to try and get a natural look.

I also have a sample of sleep in a jar, I didn't try on my face but is too yellow, so not sure if I pick wrong.

I'm here: http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/4958/basehelp.jpg

Thanks

Hi, I am new here. I would like to try the mineral foundation. I am Asian but very fair skin, but almost every mineral foundation brand's "Asian" or "Exotic" formulas are so dark and yellow! I am currently using EDM Golden Fair but don't really like the texture and it looks a little bit chalky if I build up too much, so I can only wear a very light coverage with EDM.

Here are some reference pictures in different lights:

What is the mix formula you can recommend? Thank you so much! ^__^

Hi Bambi -

Jen's away this week-end, but looking at your picture, I'd say start with about 6 scoops of ivory to 1 of warm gold. You may need to darken or lighten a little bit, but that's a good baseline. If you find it isn't yellow enough, you can go with the buttery gold instead. But I'd start with the WG and see how that looks.

Your skin looks nice, and if you get cakey then the original formula is the one to go with - I love it because I'm pale and I tend to cake, too - but not with the original. It's enough to even out your skin tone and it looks nice, buildable if you do want more coverage, but it doesn't go on heavy at all.

I'd start with maybe 9 ivory to 1 warm gold, and see how that looks. Because you're so pale you probably want to order an extra sample bag of ivory - you'll go through that fast. You might also want to pick up samples of ebony and buttery gold - I don't think you'll need them, but just in case you need to tweak the forumula to go either a little more pink or a little more yellow.

Hi!
I need some help picking foundation color!
I am a vanilla beige in laura mercier and a 7 in Armani Silk
In bare minerals they suggested a medium beige.

Thanks SO much!!
Miranda

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with any of those lines. I'll take a guess here that you've got light-medium skin? Past that, I'm not sure. Do you look better in blushes that are peachy, pinky, or are both good for you?

I agree that Warm Gold is a great place to start. I think you might need it a little darker than 1:6, but not much...maybe 1:5? As for the yellow concealer....give it a try. It is very sheer and might lighten the area under your eyes just enough. If you decide it is not right, consider trying Medium Peach concealer.

Golden Fair in EDM is pretty close to a 1:9 or 10 in Buttery Gold. (1 scoop Buttery Gold plus 9 or 10 scoops of Ivory.) I agree with Rhys in that the Original Formula is the one for you. It is light and sheer, and should not look overdone.

I am only familiar with BE and their Medium Beige is kind of the color they use for just about anyone with a medium skintone. The laura mercier seems to be for golden medium skintones.....so I would think Buttery Gold if you are on the yellow side, or Warm Gold if you lean more peach. In medium tone, they both mix at about a 1:6. (1 scoop color base to 6 sccops of the white)
