Laurie,
I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty. I know you did the right thing, even though it was hard. I wish your family all the best in healing.

Sorry to hear about your cat, it is really sad to lose an animal. You did the right thing, We had to do that once with our beagle, and it was really sad.
This little kitty showed up at my house a few days ago , with a matching kitty. She's really sweet and looks well cared for. Today she was the only one here, and was laying on my wrought iron couch all day. Tonight Karen brought her inside.
She been cuddled up on a lap all evening. How can I turn her back out in the cold? I think she belongs to someone, as she appears to be well cared for, and is quite friendly.
I would hate to think that someone dropped off these two young cats.
Mikie, not to worry, I'm keeping her inside tonight. She seems fine with the dog, my black only kitty does have his nose bent out of shape. Tomorrow I'll try to figure it out. She looks like Silky's identical cousin- right down to the extra toes!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, Laurie. I put down my two 13-year old labs within a month of one another and was really miserable - until my vet told me something. (He took care of these two all of their lives.) He said he sees all sorts of people and animals with all sorts of problems ranging from neglect to poor health due to overindulgence. If he were to come back to earth as an animal, he would want to be one of mine because they were truly part of the family and taken care of diligently. He said they were blessed to lead such a happy and fulfilling life. (That's when I totally lost it.) We now have two more dogs, both from animal rescue organizations. Although they can't replace the first two, they still bring us great joy and companionship - and an occasional barf on the carpet.
I'm proud of you for letting your kids say goodbye to their friend and helping them understand that it is kinder to put the kitty out of her misery. It's a very hard decision, but I truly believe it helps kids value their pets (and other relationships) more if they are involved in those hard times. I hope you and your family can appreciate what a wonderful gift you've had with your cats for 13 years. They have certainly been blessed to be in your family. Please accept my deepest condolences. Lauren

I just got a card in the mail from the vet's office expressing their sympathy! I'd gone a whole day without blubbering, and now here I go again! I never dreamed I'd miss her so much, even with her sisters to keep me company!
Mikie, when I was a girl, my very first kitties were Cloudy and Ginger! How funny is that?
I really appreiciate all your kind words and thoughts and prayers. It makes it a little easier, knowing you guys can relate!
