Thanks Jen - I always wondered about that....beauty, jewelry sites always ask whether you are warm or cool and I am never sure.

Did you see my question about formulas? Will the ratios be the same across different finishes (original, medium, vegan)?

Thanks again Jen! I will post a full face pic tomorrow with the WG so you can help me decide which is the better match!!

Do you have any must haves for my coloring??? I never know if what I get is really complimentary or not. Just curious since you are the makeup color guru!! Thanks so much for all of your help!

Yes, you can just try adding a little more Ivory at a time....go ahead with one scoop at a time. You never know, it might be just right. But I think the other blend will match better.

The thing about the Warm Gold and Yellow Booster combo is that you are adding yellow without adding much shade depth. Adding Warm Gold to Buttery Gold does add in the undertones you need but with about twice the amount of brown (for lack of a better way to describe it).
Thank you! I am just excited to try it. lol. I love the Vegan formula, the coverage is wonderful. I added some ivory, so my mix is about 1 Warm gold, 1 buttery gold and 15 ivory. The depth is right, but I will definitely try the yellow booster with the warm gold when I get it.

Across different finishes they will differ slightly in the number of scoops of White. (It takes more color base to tint heavier foundation, but it is easier just to add less white.)

If you are medium toned they will differ by about one scoop.
Original 1:5.....Medium Coverage 1:4....Heavy 1:3 There may still be some adjusting that needs to be done..color base is a larger part of the mix.

Then it gets a little more like 2 scoops different when you mix fairer (it is kind of a percentage thing.)
Original 1:12....Medium Coverage 1:10.......Heavy 1:8 These will probably be close because the color is such a small amount of the final mix.

Vegan Formula falls between Original and Medium. Half scoops really only matter in the more medium toned recipes. Again, it is a percentage thing.

Jen I really hope I am not bothering you, I ask this just so I know what I am doing and don't have to bother you as much (hopefullY) LOL....I believe I am in the light-medium range. So if I use the 1:7 Warm Gold in Original it would be 1:6 Medium and 1:5 Heavy? Should I still try 1:7 in Vegan Formula?!? Since I really was using 1:9 Warm Gold I might try 1:8 first. Then it would be 1:8 Orig. 1:7 Medium, 1:6 Heavy? I plan on making a few different mixes tomorrow and experimenting. This makes a lot of sense now because I tried to make a concealer with the heavy and just split the ratio I was using in half and it was WAY too light...now I get why. Should I even bother with the Ebony? Did you like that match in the picture or did you think it was off? I know you like the pic with the Warm Gold (it was a tad whitish to me, so I just need to add a little color)...let me know and as always I REALLY REALLY appreciate your help!

Babydoll-
I am here to answer your questions....and when you ask a question there are always a few readers who wanted to ask, that just did not get around to it, yet. So really I am answering a bunch of quesitons at once. ;)

I would mix the Vegan very similarly to what you have done...it will bevery close, but might need some adjusting in the white. Start at 1:6 and add the 7th if you need it.

Figuring out the perfect ratio takes a little of trial and error. And I might go on vacation and get a tan next week (wishful thinking) and need something a little different (I warm up with a tan). I think with other foundations we get stuck thinking we have to pick one without realizing that if we decide tomorrow that we like a different color base, it does not take that much to change it. We are not stuck with one color, or a tub of foundation that is the wrong color. We can fix it.

For you, I think you are still undecided. And the one that needs to be happy is you. I really cannot see the differences in a 2 dimensional full face photo that you will see in person. I think you should mix up a small batch of each. Try the WG mix one day, and the Ebony one the next. Ask friends that you trust what they think (sometimes this helps, and others- they just look at you funny). You have enough color base to mix both colors for a while. You might want to get a pouch of the Vegan Ivory before you pick your foundation kit color. And even then if you wanted to pick a different color base, all it requires is purchasing the color refill.

Both in Original formula.

What do you think? Do either need to be tweeked and what is your favorite. What ratio should I use in Medium and Heavy?

As always you are the best!!

I think you will fall in Warm Gold. But Olive and Buttery Gold will be close. Start with Warm Gold 1:3 or 4. If it needs yellow, move to Buttery Gold in about the same ratio.....if the Warm Gold mix is too yellow, try Olive at about 1:6
