Hi Allyxx,
The two I would try are Olive and Warm Gold. I know Warm Gold might not sound right, but that foundation was based upon olive toned skin with some warmth/yellow. Warm Gold you will probably need 1 scoop color to about 7 Ivory. In Olive 1 scoop color to about 10 or so Ivory.

Hi JenW,

Please help! I'm hoping to match my neck, so here're closeups of it :) Sorry, too "shy" to post full face pics. I'm Asian Chinese and have acne scars that I want to cover up.

I'd tried my own mixes but without much success:
14 Ivory - 1 Olive: too brown
12 Ivory - 1 BG: it's a different shade of yellow from my neck. I then added a scoop of the olive mix and it was still a bit off

I actually did swatches with all the darks and concluded that Olive were the closest but when I started mixing, it just seem wrong. I wasn't that good in chemistry during school days, and I'm pretty bad with colors. I think I should try WG next, but before I waste more of the ivory, I'd better seek professional help :P

Could you give me proportions for both original and medium coverage? And if I want to add glow to the medium coverage, how much should I use without reducing the coverage?

TIA!

I have been using EDM, but am considering switching. I am wondering what "dark" color I would need, and an idea of what ratio to start with? I use the palest EDM shade of foundation, mixed with matte white eyeshadow to make it even paler. I have lots of redness in my face that I conceal with green and yellow concealer too.
Here is a picture. I have makeup on in this one, but you can see the color I'm trying to match in my neck.

My only concern with switching is it sounds like I would need to buy new brushes, since the SN foundation picks up differently than EDM foundation? The SN brushes look *lovely*, I am just trying to not spend too much money on makeup anymore.
Thank you!!

I am thinking Warm Gold, but not very much of it at all. Maybe a 1 scoop color to over 16 Ivory (= a half tsp). You may even find you would like a little more Ivory.

As for buying new brushes, I honestly think the ones you have will work well, especially if you are satisfied with its performance for other foundations. There is no need to buy another brush unless you need it. Or really want it. ;)

I have been using my EDM brushes and they work just fine!

jien-
First, I am sorry I missed your post. Our Olive is quite a bit darker than our Buttery Gold. I would try adding about 3 more scoops Olive (too brown to me kind of means too dark...especially if you think that base matched the best). By then if one or the other is not quite right, a mix of the two should be.

Another suggestion.....In looking at the pics, I don't see much yellow. I know we have several customers of Chinese descent who wear a combo of Ebony, Warm Gold, and Ivory or Ebony, Buttery Gold, and Ivory.
It is in the range of 1Warm Gold:1Ebony:12-16 Ivory or 1Buttery Gold:1Ebony:11-14Ivory.

Adding More: The Original to Medium Coverage amounts will be close....within 2 scoops or so of Ivory. You need less Ivory the heavier the coverage goes (so a little less Ivory with Medium than Original). Substituting a few of the other Ivorys for Glow will work, but I am not sure I'd go over half Glow unless you want very glowy. The coverage of Glow is kind of between Original and Medium. Definitely stick with less than half Glow for your Ivory component to preserve coverage.

packgal, thanks for 'bumping' my post!

JenW, don't worry -- I thought you needed more time with my pics since my undertones were not obvious. Thanks for your suggestions. I'd never thought of trying Ebony as it looked too pink (my swatches were done with a few grains of the dark mixed with 1/2-3/4 scoop of ivory). I'll mix up a fresh batch of olive+ivory and the other mixes soon. hopefully one of them would be a match!

What'll match MAC NC25 (It's just a smidge too dark/yellow for me now that my "tan" is fading". Currently I'm wearing EDM's Sandy Fair, but I tend to drop to Golden Fair in the winter months.

I can't find any good no makeup pictures lol.

Here's an older, I have EDM's Olive Fair in semi-matte on. Bad lighting, though: http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t206 ... CF2171.jpg
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t206 ... CF1899.jpg <- No idea what I have on in this one.

This one is more recent. I have Sandy Fair on. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t206 ... CF2560.jpg

TIA!
