Karen's Mascara?
How do people feel about Karen's mascara? I'm looking for an alternative to the drugstore variety that I'm using now. I used to use Blinc's Kiss Me mascara -- which I loved to bits -- but $24 is too much for me to spend on mascara in this economy!
I have super-sparse, super-straight standard-issue Asian lashes and want something that can hold a curl, lengthen and define. I don't expect miracles, but I hate smudges and flakes. The raccoon eyes at 5 pm is the last thing I want to deal with at the end of a long day!
Since it seems that Karen is gearing up to release her Holiday collection, it's time for me to start putting a shopping list together! TIA!

Re: Karen's Mascara?
I ordered the mascara, when I get it monday or tuesday I'll try it out for a day and write a review on it. I also can't wait to see how it works and hate the racoon look I usually get with store bought ones.

Oh great! I'll look forward to your review!
Re: Karen's Mascara?
I use Karen's mascara. However, my review might not hold much weight. I was fortunate to be blessed with dark, longish, pre-curled lashes. (Unfortunately, I passed them on to my son and not my daughter! But does he have gorgeous eyes.
) One thing I can comment on- I have no issues with flaking or smudging until I am ready to remove it. I know we have some more 'users' out there. Hopefully they can comment, too.

Re: Karen's Mascara?
Can I ask, is the mascara relatively easy to remove? I have sensitive eyes (tear ducts don't water properly) so I use a little jojoba oil to remove mascara. Some brands of mascara seem bullet-proof and need strong commercial remover to shift them. (I currently use Avon Supershock, suits me great but is anything but natural)
Re: Karen's Mascara?
I usually use a commercial remover out of habit. I will give this a try for you, though, with the jojoba. (I am camping this weekend with the Girl Scouts in a few hours...no mascara to be worn there, but I will get to it when I get back.) I think it will probably work fine, because this mascara is long lasting, but not 'bullet proof'. That is one of the reasons I like it.

Re: Karen's Mascara?
It worked quite nicely for me. Lengthens and gives some volume without being too va-va-voom. But it smudged on me by the end of the day.
Think it was the oil on my face.

Re: Karen's Mascara?
I haven't tried Karen's mascara. I *will* say though that I also use jojoba to remove my mascara and I've found Ecco Bella to be the best. Easy on, easy off. It's not waterproof but it doesn't smudge at all unless you get it wet.
Don't buy Suncoat, whatever you do. It's a waxy mess.
I'll look forward to Jen's review, because this info will influence my purchasing decision next time I need mascara.

Re: Karen's Mascara?
I have used the mascara. I found it was really good for not smudging and for staying on but for me it didn't give enough volume. But if you want natural looking lashes then it's nice. I find it easy to get off, just using cleanser and water. And the price is good.
Re: Karen's Mascara?
I haven't had it smudge on me, either. But like Jen, I have really long, pre-curled lashes. A bit lighter than hers, I think, because I'm a redhead, but most mascaras make me look like Tammy Faye Baker - ugh. Karen's doesn't at all, and I've even tried using two coats of it - then it looks like mascara, but not overdone.
