I do not see much pink or blue in my complexion, yet I am by no means a warm or yelllow. And not really beige either. If there was something called a slightly golden neutral, perhaps. Mixing foundation should prove very interesting.
Oh my gosh!! Thank you ladies for this thread - this is exactly the problem I have with matching my skin undertones. I'm a little bit pink, more yellow but so very white that the palest MMU foundation (EDM's Buff FLN) is still a hint to dark - it gives me a greyish cast. My best friend is "Fresh Air" blush from EDM - until my SN orders arrive that is!! - as this blush gives that balancing faint peachy golden tone for an all over colour. Without it, I look down right ill.

My SN foundation sample kit is en route - I can't wait. Curiously enough, like Karen described, I have that skin tone, bone structure and almond eyes and am Scottish (hybrid Scandinavian a few generations back). How very interesting!

JenW wrote:Zeebs suggestion is good. But if you have tried blends of the color base and they were not quite right, I am not sure what to suggest next. Without seeing a pic of you, it is a bit of a challenge for me. If you want to send me one,PM me, and I will give you my emil. In all honesty, occasionally the only way to get a perfect match with tricky undertones is to see you in person.

I do wonder if a touch of Peach color base would counteract the yellow you describe. I know that I used to wear more yellowish foundation to cut the red in my face, I wonder if it works the other way?
Yes, I think Peach is a good suggestion in this case, too. I would be very careful if you're going to mix more than two bases, though - it could get muddy in a big hurry.

I have continued tweaking like a mad woman, and after traumatizing Jen with my au naturale pics, she told me to try golden with a teeny bit of peach.

I think I have pinpointed the problem with your help. When I get the colour match for my face (which indeed seems to be close with a golden/peach mix) it looks off next to my neck, which has no tones except for some golden. So, for now, I mixed my golden/ivory/tempt tryst blend with my new golden/peach/ lots of ivory blend, and just lightly fluff it all over. Having a blend that can be used a concealer seems hard at the moment, what with having this wonky skintone and all. But I am happy to report that this arrangement works rather well for now. Thanks for everyones help!

Your pics were very good! I am a big fan of the natural look, myself.

I am glad you came up with something that would work. I think mixing Tempt Tryst into your foundation mix is very smart. It could almost save a step, and it would certainly liven up the foundation if one thought it to be too matte. It is amazing what a resourceful woman can come up with!
