I forgot to add, I agree with Jen that Mirage might be a good option for you too.

Oxana, what are the other colors in your swatch? I want some of those. :)

I agree also. I can't wear Centerfold but I LOVE Mirage. XXX is very tan and is better used as a base than a lip color for me.

The swatches are the ones I posted on the swatch thread, here they are here: http://host.silknaturals.com/forum/view ... 7&start=70
That will have the names, and also more pics from different angles and stuff.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the one right before XXX(on the left of it) it actually Centerfold, so you can see what the two look like next to each other.

Jasmine, I seem to love the same types of nudes that you do, and have disovered that a lot of the lip colors from SN that are described as "nude" are much more of a berry/darker pink/brown shade that is usually actually darker than my already naturally pigmented lips. When I think "nude" I think of the J-Lo type of lip color; something that will nearly erase my own lip color and add a slight hint of pink, peach, or beige.

XXX was the fist lip color I ordered on here, and while it IS the type of nude I go for (in that it erased my lip color), it was just too taupey/grey/brown on me to be able to pull it off. :( It just didn't work with my neutral/warm coloring. But if a color like that would work with your coloring you will probably be very happy with it!

PS - Centerfold turned out the exact same way on me as it did on you (it wasn't a nude tan at all, more of a deep pink/berry shade), and I too have noticed that some of SN's lip colors kind of morph on me. They start out one way on my lips and then turn darker or brighter after a minute or so.

Ditto!! Must be a combo of my chemistry and pigmented lips mixing w/ the oils.

Shortcake - you're right, I like the J-Lo type colors you described. I am actually neutral-cool myself, but the lipsticks that have taupey/grey undertones don't work on me either (I am flashing back to when I bought MAC Folio because Angelina Jolie supposedly wore it in Tomb Raider and it sounded perfect. I could only use it by dabbing it on ever so slightly so I didn't get silly putty lips). It just seems impossible for me to find the right balance - everything I own is either slightly too orange, slightly too pink, is too sheer to cover my lips or changes to berry colors. I also would prefer to find a lip color that I don't have to layer, because of course I'm searching for that one product I can just swipe on and go and have it be perfect, without having to put foundation on my lips first or mix different lippies to get the right shade. :P For now I am using MAC Creme d'nude and swiping on EM English Muffin under or over the MAC to get close to what I want. I'll have to order XXX and Mirage to see how they do...

I also have very pigmented lips, and recently broke down and ordered XXX. It in't a color that I can pull off by itself, (too brownish/gray), but it does make a good base. I apply it like lipstick, blot it and apply a colored lipstick or gloss over it. It really tones down things down. I found that even shades that I couldn't wear before suddenly worked! :)

I know it is one more step than you (or I) would really like, but at least it could allow you to use some of those colors that are already in your posession.

I suspect that nothing sheer or lightly pigmented is going to give those of us with highly pigmented lips that coveted "nude" look. Our natural coloring is just too strong! :D

Ok quick update - I got the XXX and Mirage. XXX is actually really awesome when my lips are blocked out a little by my foundation. So in the morning it looks pretty close to what I want. Other times of the day it can be a little too brown, and still doesn't lighten quite enough, but at least it doesn't give me dead lips. So it's probably my fav for now, but of course I will still be on the hunt for a HG nude. ;)
