Looking for a replacement -

Post by lov2read68 » Sun Nov 08, 2009 7:32 pm

One of my favorite all time lip colors is a discontinued color by Bobbi Brown. Lip Sheer in Plum. I am asking on the outside chance that someone might be familiar with it & be able to suggest a replacement from SN's current offerings. It was a cool based plum with no brown & no shimmer. Even though it was a lip sheer a better description would be almost a lipstick.
It was one of those colors that you can put on & it perks up your whole face. Any suggestions to dupe this are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with that color, other than what I see online, but Karen has nice plum colors. You could check those specific ones and decide for yourself:

Fig Leaf- Nude Plum Matte Solid Gloss
Figment- nudish copper plum shimmer
Bobbi- light nude plum with gold pearl VLG

Those are the plums I currently see listed. I own Bobbi and Figment, and they are very nice. I can't usually wear plum (totally 90's dark lip effect), but those two aren't all out there :)

It's worth browsing through the swatch thread on this forum (first one listed under Color Questions I think), unless someone can offer you a closer match based on experience.

Thanks so much for the suggestions egerandi! That was the great thing abt this color - it wasn't at all dark just 2-3 shades darker than MLBB. I've drooled my way through the swatch thread! Time to get serious - *heading back to swatch thread with pen & paper*
