Oh, darn it...I just thought of something.
I know SN's eye shadows are supposed to look amazing in person, but if I primarily only wear makeup for photos, would my cart look any different?
So far I've ordered Brown Sugar, Quiver, Babydoll, Petal, Breathless and Idolize.

No, your cart is good for pics. I might run a dry brush over the top of the eyeshadow to knock some of the shimmer down a notch just to be safe on too much light reflection, but a little light reflection around the eyes is good. ......when you do decided to try the foundation, though, I would do a test photo with it on......
Most mineral foundation does not work well with photography.....It gives a white cast/glare. Karen tried to formulate with this in mind, but a test is always a good thing. Surprises (as in all of your photos for a special day showing your face with a white cast) are not.

Thanks for the info, Jen.
I've actually had really good photo luck with Bare Minerals but that stuff is expensive and makes my skin feel itchy. Finishing powder seems to help a lot too. Although again, I am totally overwhelmed by all of the different options. Which one's the closest to Mineral Veil?

We're sort of the opposite of BE- they do shimmery foundation and matte matte matte finishing powder. We do pretty much matte foundation, and a finishing powder with some light diffusers. I did formulate the foundation with flash photography in mind- too much titanium dioxide glows under a camera flash (zinc oxide is fine though)- if you're having your pic taken by a pro they can light for it, or adjust it after the fact (I worked in a photo lab for a few years...even faces with no makeup turn lighter with a flash, we corrected for it all the time), but if you're just doing casual shots with a digital camera go light on the Perfecting Powder, and stay away from Blur.

As for Mineral Veil...our closest product as far as use would be Perfecting Powder. However, ours is different. I think the main ingredient in Mineral Veil is corn starch.

Thank you for the info, ladies. I appreciate your honesty. I really want to try SN's foundation because I keep hearing such good things about it, but the thought of not being able to use a finishing powder with it kinda scares me. I am ridiculously shiny under anything but natural light and my pores under a camera lens look huge if I just use foundation with no powder. Any suggestions?
